When I was small, my grandmother would tell me that ladies must not do these things:
scratch in public,
be rude to anyone,
"talk back" to those in authority,
point at anyone,
chew gum,
be "sassy",
sit with their legs up or in any fashion that would expose them,
be immodestly dressed,
chase men.

I listened to those rules and took them to heart, believing my grandmother was a lady herself and knew what she was talking about. I believe they are valid still and probably more so than ever, but I confess that they are not always easy to live by.  At the time when she was living and around us, I thought "sounds like being a lady is no fun" and "probably I cannot do it".  It was a high standard and yet, it is all Biblical. Of course, I didn't know that then. I thought my grandmother made up those rules and that was good enough for me. I loved her and loved it when she visited us.  Most of my standards for living if not all of them, are directly from THE BIBLE. The BIBLE is sort of my life's instruction book because I don't have anyone to ask. I do sometimes ask the Pastor or the Deacons of my church for their Christian opinions and of course, their prayers but generally speaking, I look up what I want to know about how to succeed and please GOD in THE BIBLE.  The fact that GOD considers married men to be the head of their households seems to be a boomerang IF the man in question is not of GOD or godly in word and deed. That problem did cause me to have to ask for advice from those in Biblical authority in my Church. I write some about the scriptures about what GOD says about married men and women, in Galatians, Ephesians, and of course I Corinthians chapter 13 ,a passage I learned as a child for Girls' Auxiliary a Southern Baptist method of teaching girls to love GOD.

Oh, I know full well what the world says on this topic, about women's so-called rights, but I remember that the only real rights are from GOD and given by GOD, [those are called inalienable rights in our Constitution] . The U.S. in my opinion has become a place where women are in vastly worst circumstances than ever before in the history of this nation. That is because the Courts strayed away from the idea of protecting women and children and began to think of them as "equal" as a buzz word for casting them to the winds. How is it possible for children who are minors, to be "equal" to an adult male who has much power and physical prowess over women and children? And how is it possible for women whose very natures are different from men, to compete with men for the "right" to exist? The roles of men and women are very very different. I know that Harvard University "let go" that brave man who ventured to announce that it is scientific fact that men and women are different, physically,mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Of course, he didn't say it quite that way, and was more generic, with more a cautious Scientific approach to the truth. But what do I have to fear or dread? I am a woman and I am allowed to say what I think and to emote. Though of course, there are entire civilizations that teach and believe that keeping a stiff upper lip is the proper thing to do. [the British for example and I love all things British and all things Scots].

Even my own father now deceased, thought it nearly a crime to reveal emotions in public or to show affection in public.  I am not him and he is not me and yet, his memory and his teachings also live on in me, as well as my grandmother's and my mother's. We, humans are indeed the products of our teachings which is precisely why GOD instructed the earliest humans to "teach your children" to love GOD and the Commandments of GOD. In so much of my work, I make the effort to teach the world's children because I realized as a Registered Nurse some years back after I observed that students in the school bathroom did not wash their hands after toileting. That shocked me! I was there for a parent meeting and visited the bathroom for the purpose intended; and while washing my hands observed that not one student washed theirs! I decided then that someone has to teach the students and children of the world a lot of things and certainly to wash their hands after toileting is one of those things. That sort of led to my efforts to put words on websites and blogs for easy instruction to anyone. But the other things to teach your children are more important.

To love GOD with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself are the two most important Commandments as JESUS summed the others up into those two. And to be a proper lady in all that you do is important. I attest to that because circumstances change. The winds of fortune blow for all as one lawyer from Atlanta told me years ago. The Bible says that "riches certainly make themselves wings and fly away" in Proverbs. It is not your circumstances that define you; but rather how you define your circumstances. Will you conduct yourself as a Lady at all times or will become the cheap imitation of men? Will you honor The Name of GOD ALMIGHTY at all times and praise HIM and glorify HIM or will you deny HIM, or foolishly think that you may chastise HIM? Do you recognize that there is a profound distinction and value to the one thing that men cannot do and that is give birth to living humans to reproduce your self in the long run?

Do not think that what you do at your office or for your personal gain has any long time value assigned to it.   A medical doctor that I thought the world of, once told me that all humans in their jobs are replaceable and that even if a doctor in the very midst of an operation in the Operating Room, were to suddenly drop dead, the Circulator would find a replacement to finish that surgery before 30 minutes had passed! That was a recognition on his part and his effort to teach me humility, and to remind me that humans may and do accomplish much good, but we are not immortal except through the blood of JESUS on the Cross. However, where we achieve immortality in this life is by reproducing our selves through children who tend to imitate the people most important to them and that is their parents. In a different way, my daddy told me when I was about 13 not to worry about something that would have no meaning in a hundred years. At the time he said that, and because of my age when he said it, I was not sure exactly what he meant, but I grasped the intent sort of. I understood it then and still to mean, that the life we are given to live will have eternal consequences or not, and that depends upon us. I mean "us" as the collective human race.  If a person spends the lifetime given them focusing on the pursuit of pleasure and the accumulation of material wealth, then in one hundred years' time that person will be a statistic on a tombstone : name, date of birth, date of death. If however a person spends the lifetime given them seeking the glory of GOD and the way to make HIS HOLY NAME known to all, then GOD says HE will give a name that is better and lasting to all generations,for that person. In other words, the eternal values that never end come only through the love of GOD and the effort by any person to live in such a way as to glorify GOD. I pray for the children of this nation and all nations that somehow by the grace of GOD, they might endure and live to teach their children to love GOD and to create a legacy for the future generations in some way. I think as a nation we have greatly underestimated the power of the mother and the father and the grandparents to shape and mold their children into humans pleasing to GOD. In fact, I have come to believe this so much that those children without parents are given a definite disadvantage in life as they have no trustworthy role models and no thing to guage their behaviour by, and no one to be able to go too to ask for wisdom beyond their years. It is the tragedy of this nation collectively to have so many women working outside the home with the TV baby-sitting or the child who may be only 8 or 10 baby-sitting several younger children. The mothers are needed at home and yes, the mothers should set high standards of expectations for their children to live up too. It is important because the world expects them to fail! The mother's and father's influence makes a life-changing difference to each child and it cannot be replaced.
